Administrators Admin Posted December 17, 2020 Administrators Share Posted December 17, 2020 Invision Community dropped support for Facebook and Instagram oembeds in a recent maintenance release due to changes on Facebook's end. This plugin brings that support back! To use this plugin you will need to Create a Hidden Content Give reaction or reply to this topic to see the hidden content. if you haven't already (if your site supports Facebook logins, you already have one). Add the Oembed product. Supply the App ID and App Secret in the plugin settings. That's it! Better yet, any existing Facebook or Instagram oembeds will automatically be restored once you start using the new plugin. For full details, see this Facebook document: Hidden Content Give reaction or reply to this topic to see the hidden content. Drop a line in the support topic or send me a PM if you require technical support. Note for those that require this information: This plugin calls Facebook's Graph API to generate an access token, and then calls Facebook's Graph API to process the oembed request. This is the nature of oembed, however, so that should not be surprising. The application information you supply in the settings, as well as the access token generated, are never shared outside of your site except to Facebook as needed to facilitate the intended behavior of the plugin.
